Bin Laden could be dead, whereabouts unknown: Zardari
Reuters

he may be dead...

he may be dead...

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) – Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari said on Monday that the whereabouts of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden remained a mystery and there was a suspicion that he could be dead.

Speaking to international media, Zardari said U.S. officials had told him that they had no trace of the al Qaeda chief, although they habitually say he is most likely in Pakistan.

Pakistan’s own intelligence agencies were no wiser, either, Zardari said.

“There is no news,” the president said. “They obviously feel that he does not exist anymore but that’s not confirmed, we can’t confirm that.”

Al Jazeera aired excerpts of an audio recording in March in which the speaker’s voice sounded like earlier messages from bin Laden, who has eluded all efforts to catch him since al Qaeda carried out the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States.

Bin Laden, if he is still alive, turned 52 on March 10, but he is known to suffer from ill-health.

There have been reports that he had died of natural causes in the past, but they have never been corroborated, and security analysts believe intelligence agencies monitoring jihadi websites on the Internet would have picked up some chatter.

‘The Foxxhole’ host Jamie Foxx to Miley Cyrus: I’m sorry

BY KORIN MILLER
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER

Wednesday, April 15th 2009, 10:12 AM

And now, the apology …

Comedian Jamie Foxx has issued a mea culpa to Miley Cyrus after suggesting she make a sex tape, become a lesbian and, uh, do heroin.

“I so apologize … and this is sincere,” he said on the “Tonight Show With Jay Leno” on Tuesday. “I am a comedian, and you guys know that whatever I say, I don’t mean any of it.”

“I have a radio show… We’re really the black Howard Stern. We go at everybody. There was a situation with Miley Cyrus, and I just want to say, I apologize for what I said. I didn’t mean it maliciously. You know I’m a comedian. You know my heart.”

Foxx came under fire from Cyrus fans after verbally attacking the “Hannah Montana” star on his Sirius radio show on Sunday. The 16-year-old should “get like Britney Spears and do some heroin. Do like Lindsay Lohan and start seeing a lesbian and get some crack in your pipe. Catch chlamydia on a bicycle seat,” Foxx opined.

And now he’s taken a different tact.

“Miley, I apologize, so I’ll call you,” Foxx said Tuesday. “I got a daughter too, so I completely understand.”

Poor ol’ Mylie’s gotta be so offended…it’s not like she’s ever done anything disparaging…

TMZ knows who triggered the fight that left Rihanna battered and bruised and Chris Brown an accused felon — it’s Brown’s manager.

Sources tell us the woman who left the three-page text message on Brown’s cell phone is Tina Davis. Davis — who turns 40 this month — was rumored to have had a relationship with Brown when he was 16. Brown and Davis have denied it.

Law enforcement tells us the text message to Brown talked about hooking up later — and it totally pissed off Rihanna. She slapped and hit him and he then brutally fired back.

The detective’s affidavit refers to the text message as being “from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with.”

Coolio Charged for Coke and a Smack

CoolioCoolio has officially been charged with felony cocaine possession — and two other misdemeanors — after cops say they found drugs in his luggage at LAX last week.

Officials claim Coolio, real name Artis Leon Ivey, grabbed a screener’s arm in an effort to stop the search — and for that, officials also tacked on a misdemeanor battery charge.

The rapper also faces one misdemeanor count of possession of a smoking device.

Coolio, who’s due back in court April 3rd, faces up to three years in state prison if he’s convicted.

YouTube blocks UK users from watching music videos

LONDON – Google Inc. said Monday it will block U.K. users from watching music videos on its popular video-sharing site YouTube after negotiations with Britain’s music royalty-collecting body broke down.

Google said it would begin blocking British users starting Monday night. The Internet titan said it knew the move would cause “significant disappointment.”

But it said its hand was forced by PRS for Music, which it said is asking for royalties that would cause Google to lose money every time a video was played on YouTube.

“Our previous license from PRS for Music has expired, and we’ve been unable so far to come to an agreement to renew it on terms that are economically sustainable for us,” Google said in a statement. Until a solution is found, it added, “we will be blocking premium music videos in the UK that have been supplied or claimed by record labels.”

PRS for Music, which collects money on behalf of writers and publishers worldwide, said it was outraged by Google’s move.

“Google has told us they are taking this step because they wish to pay significantly less than at present to the writers of the music on which their service relies, despite the massive increase in YouTube viewing,” the group said in a statement.

Neither group revealed how much money is at stake in their negotiations.

YouTube has become an increasingly popular destination for record labels squeezed by declining sales for compact discs. The Web site has deals with three of the four major record labels but some rights-holders have balked at their cut of the advertising revenue.

In December, Warner Music pulled all of its music from YouTube, saying the payments it received did not fairly compensate the label or its artists and songwriters.

It was not clear how long the music videos would stay blocked. Both PRS for Music and Google said they hoped their dispute could be resolved quickly.

The video Leona Lewis’s “Bleeding Love,” licensed by Sony BMG Music Entertainment U.K. Ltd., which has garnered more than 83 million hits, was still visible from the U.K. late Monday.

Donald Trump: Rihanna is ‘a loser’ to take Chris Brown back

ChrisbrownrihannaDonald Trump thinks Rihanna should tellChris Brown, “You’re FIRED!”

Talking with “Inside Edition’s” Deborah Norville, Trump speaks out about R&B star Chris Brown’s alleged assault of his girlfriend Rihanna. And he has some firm words of advice for her.

Trump tells “Inside Edition” on tonight’s evening show (check local listings) that Rihanna should not reunite with Chris Brown, as she is reported to have done at Sean Comb’s Miami mansion before Brown’s court appearance last week.

Trump says of Rihanna: “She better get the hell out.  If she goes back, she’s a loser, and she doesn’t deserve to have any future success.”

Kelly Clarkson comes home to ‘American Idol’

The lucky 13 “American Idol” contenders who made it through to tonight’s live show would do well to take a few minutes out of their hectic day and listen to Season 1 champ Kelly Clarkson as she rehearses for her appearance. After all, she is the prime example of how to handle the sudden success that can come with appearing on this TV talent contest.

Tonight, Kelly Clarkson will be belting out her smash hit “My Life Would Suck Without You.” Back in January, that single broke the Billboard record as it jumped from  No. 97 to the top spot in just one week. It was the first cut off her new album, “All I Ever Wanted,” which is out today. And while this is only her fourth album, it is being touted as her comeback.

After being crowned the first “American Idol” winner back in the summer of 2002,  Clarkson’s debut disc “Thankful” went double platinum but met with only moderate critical approval. Her sophomore effort — “Breakaway” — was her breakthrough, selling 6 million copies and winning her Grammys in 2006 for best female pop vocal performance (“Since U Been Gone”) and pop album. However, third time was not the charm as her introspective 2007 release “My December” barely went platinum and failed to impress the critics as well.

With this new album, Clarkson is said to have hit her stride once more. Ann Powers of the Los Angeles Times called the disc “a masterful rapprochement with the mainstream, full of cheerfully ear-snagging tunes, inventive production, exhilarating vocals and enough inherent Kelly-ness to put aside fears that her label bosses implanted blond electrodes in her brain to make her behave.” And Leah Greenblat of Entertainment Weekly found, “the introspection Clarkson favored so heavily on ‘December’ is still there; now, though, she has perspective.” However, there were those reviewers who were disappointed like Greg Kot of the Chicago Tribune, who bemoaned that this album, “allows no room for the down-to-earth voice that Clarkson brings to her blog entries, the plainspoken charm she evinces in her concerts. She deserves better.”

Teacher, student inquiry ongoing

By Ron Matus and Brant James, Times Staff Writer

There is no indication the Pinellas middle school teacher accused of trading nude photos with a 14-year-old boy had improper relationships with other children, authorities said Monday.

But St. Petersburg police and Pinellas County school officials continue to investigate Christy Lynn Martin, 32, who taught at Azalea Middle School in St. Petersburg.

Martin, who earned $37,300, taught five computer classes and one “life choices” course, which involved teaching students about positive relationships, self-esteem building and conflict resolution, said Pinellas spokeswoman Andrea Zahn.

Martin was placed on administrative leave with pay Monday.

The eighth-grade student, who is not being identified, was not in one of Martin’s classes this year, said Valerie Brimm, an administrator in the district’s Office of Professional Standards. But it’s also unclear if he was a student in one of her classes last year.

Police were still trying to determine how they met, said St. Petersburg police spokesman Bill Proffitt.

Police said Martin admitted she used a cell phone to send photos of herself to the eighth-grader on Feb. 28 and March 1. The next day, the teen sent an image of himself to Martin, according to the arrest affidavit.

The teacher was charged Saturday with transmitting pornographic images through an electronic device and transmitting material harmful to a minor. Martin, who was released on $20,000 bail, did not return calls or e-mails Monday. Records show she has no criminal history in Florida.

Azalea Middle School principal Teresa Anderson notified parents about Martin Monday in a mass voice mail: “The safety and security of our students is of utmost importance. Please take this opportunity to discuss with your child inappropriate behaviors and encourage him or her to talk to you, or an adult at school, about anything that may be inappropriate or questionable.”

The case again raised concerns about whether school districts are doing enough to keep teachers from crossing the line with students — and whether students also are getting the message.

I just heard that Chris Breezy & Rihanna are gonna go on an “anti-abuse tour.” If true, Rihanna will be getting 10mil for her time and Chris will be stackin the shame…dumb move! Anyone hear the new spokesman for Wrigley’s? Mr. Schaffer Smith aka NeYo is singin the Big Red jingle.

I just have to say this… I wasn’t in the whip with the kids…but he shoulda paused…for the right reasons of course…but he may be ruined…done…bobby’d, ike’d. Never again the same perception.

I mean Oprah’s runnin wild with this one too…gonna be a wrap!

Speaking of wrap…according to this guy, Chris B’s ex step pop’s, by the time he took the ace bandage off of his self inflicted gun wound to the noodle…little Chrissy poo was already angry enough to kill…It’s not funny but…how you gonna let a blind dude beat you down? here’s the story

here’s what it reminded me of:

And what the hell is goin on over here?

The Dream…is a damn great songwriter, and great singer even though he looks like Usher’s big bro. But I look at Christina Milian…Ms. AM to PM; miss Every Little Thing That We Do; and Ms. really bad movie with John Travolta… and I think to myself… What’s with the Jordache look?
